Following our discussions, we visited their facility, where we met their family, the current litter, and several sires and dams. As a discerning individual, I was impressed by their facility and the evident honor and integrity of the family. As seasoned shepherd owners, we were able to observe the behaviors, interactions, and temperaments of the dogs. I do not usually write public reviews for breeders. In the past I have shared photos or sent private messages with updates about dogs, but I have never written something that others might use to decide where to find their own dog. That changes with Shiflett’s Shepherds because of my girl Stevie.
Stevie is without question one of the best dogs I have ever had the privilege of calling mine. To simply say she is intelligent would be selling her short. She is compassionate, loving, eager to please, and sometimes a little spicy which only makes her even better.
I have been training dogs for many years across countless breeds including Danes, corgis, shepherds, retrievers, terriers, and more. Out of all of them, Stevie has been the easiest to train. She takes direction with joy, does the task asked of her, and then comes back ready to learn more. When she realizes she has done what was asked, the happiness on her face is indescribable. It shows that she loves working and thrives on having a purpose.
Stevie is not just a well trained pet. She is my service dog. I am a disabled veteran with complex medical needs and she alerts not only on verbal cues but also scent changes and crowd behaviors. She gives me independence and safety every single day. That kind of temperament and trainability starts at the very beginning with the breeder who carefully pairs, raises, and loves these pups before they ever meet their forever homes.

Hello, I wanted to give you a pupdate! We named out pup Koda, and he is living his best life. He loves our children and is attached to our hip! His older sister keeps him on his toes. I took him to the vet today for his next set of shots and check-ups, and he is up to 35 pounds and i received so many compliments from staff. Saying, ” That is the most well-behaved German Shepard i have ever seen.” His disposition and temperament is beyond amazing! Not to mention how smart he is, he was potty trained in 1 week.
